HySpecNet-11k: Large-Scale Hyperspectral Benchmark Dataset

HySpecNet-11k is a large-scale hyperspectral benchmark dataset created by TU Berlin and BIFOLD using data from the German EnMAP satellite mission.

Comprising 11,483 non-overlapping image patches across 224 spectral bands at a 30-meter ground sample distance, it delivers high-dimensional Earth observation data for advanced machine learning research. Each patch covers 128 × 128 pixels, derived from radiometrically, geometrically, and atmospherically corrected L2A surface products. Designed primarily for benchmarking learning-based hyperspectral image compression, feature extraction, and deep learning models, HySpecNet-11k includes standardized easy and hard dataset splits to support robust, reproducible Earth observation AI workflows on our platform.

How to Access These Data

Access to the HySpecNet-11k dataset is restricted to registered users. Because these data are tightly linked to the German EnMAP mission and subject to export restrictions, please follow these steps to request access:

  1. Log In: Click the Login button on the website.

  2. Register: Create a new user account if you do not have one yet.

  3. Access Tenant Manager: After verifying your email address, log in to the Tenant Manager to manage your account settings.

  4. Complete Profile: Go to Configuration > My Profile and fill out all empty fields. Please ensure all information is accurate, as this data is required for the mandatory sanction list check.

  5. Set Up Organization: Go to Organization and complete one of the following:

    • Create an Organization: Set up a new organization if one does not yet exist for your employer or project.

    • Join an Existing Organization: Join your team's organization using an invitation code from your organization's administrator. (If you are unsure whether an organization exists or who the administrator is, contact our Support team for assistance.)

  6. Submit Request: Go to Support > Data applications, create a new request, and select EnMAP Data. In the Project description field, explicitly state that you require access to HySpecNet-11k.

  7. Accept License: Read and accept the EnMAP License Agreement—this is a mandatory requirement to access HySpecNet-11k data—and submit your request.

Once DLR reviews and approves your request, the required access role will be assigned to your account, and the HySpecNet dataset will be accessible directly on your VM under /eodata.

Please note: if you want to access the data from your local machine outside the CODE-DE-Lab network, you can do so following this guide /de/pmguide/#faq-eodata-no-vm
