Processor: Sentinel-1: SLC Coherence (6 days)

Note: This processor is identical to the Sentinel-1: SLC Coherence (12 days) processor but requires corresponding pairs of datasets that are acquired within a temporal baseline of six days. Thus, it can only be applied to datasets acquired before the loss of Sentinel-1B (23 December 2021). The processor is intended to be useful again after the launch of Sentinel-1C.

The Sentinel-1: SLC Coherence (6 days) processor for polarimetric Sentinel-1 L1 SLC input data generates a Sentinel-1 Level 2 product describing the coherence of a pair of images 12 days apart. Concurrently, a terrain-correction (using DEM) is performed. The coherence product is often also referred to as Sentinel-1 L2 CARD-COH12 product. This processor provided by the Joint Research Centre is based on a GPT graph that can be run with ESA SNAP.

The Sentinel-1: SLC Coherence (6 days) processor is pre-configured and can be easily applied by registered users to any Sentinel-1 L1 SLC data on individual demand via the CODE-DE Data Explorer.

Processor details

  • Input data:
    • Sentinel-1 L1 SLC IW (Master Image)
  • Other data used for processing:
    • A data sets acquired 6days before the master image and with the same orbit and footprint (slave images)
    • Precise orbit information from ESA
    • Copernicus DEM (GLO-30)
  • Methodology: Detailed information can be found in the links below

Access and use

Depending on the environment and intended use, there are the following possibilities to execute the processing:

  • EO Browser: -
  • Data Explorer:
    • Data Catalogue: CODE-DE or CREODIAS
    • Search and select required Sentinel-1 L1 SLC input data -> Add to Workspace
    • Go to Workspace - > Select required datasets and Add to processing center -> Go to Processing center
    • Select processor: Sentinel-1: SLC Coherence (6 days)
    • Select required datasets and Create processing order
    • Progress of orders can be monitored in Processing status
    • The processed data can be downloaded via the Data Explorer.

Usage requirements

There are certain requirements that must be met for use. Some data or services require an individual application. For more information, please contact CODE-DE Support.

  • Registration on CODE-DE: Yes (for the use of the processor in the CODE-DE Data Explorer)
