Sentinel-2 L2A MAJA
Sentinel-2 L2A products provide the surface reflectance after atmospheric correction. This corrected data together with the according cloud/shadow mask are key for a reliable automated information extraction from Sentinel-2 data.
The collection Sentinel-2 L2A MAJA provides atmospherically corrected Sentinel-2 data based on MAJA processor for Sentinel-2 data acquired over Germany.

Please note: There are less Sentinel-2 L2A MAJA datasets available than Sentinel-2 L1C data for the same area and time period. This is because the MAJA processing requires a certain amount of suitable data. For example, only if for each of the required input datasets a certain maximum cloud cover is not exceeded, a valid result can be produced.
Updates
- Ongoing updates for each newly incoming Sentinel-2 L1C dataset over Germany. Usually an update is available 1-2 days after the Sentinel-2 L1C data is published at ESA.
Processing details
The MAJA Processor is used for the systematic processing of Sentinel-2 L2A data for Germany.

- Sentinel-2 L1C scene
- Previously produced Sentinel-2 L2A MAJA data of the respective tile with sufficiently low cloud cover, whereby the search is executed up to 2 months back.
- Water bodies based on SRTM from NASA/ USGS
